Tasting- Don Manuel Torrontes

The second wine we tasted at the Vintage Cellar on Saturday was Don Manuel Torrontes 2010, made in La Rioja, Argentina of the Torrentes variety.

Don Manuel Villafane
Full transparent yellow color with an expressive nose of flowers and citric aromas. In the mouth, it is fresh and longer bodied than a Chardonnay with rich notes of peach and fresh grapes.

Wine Enthusiast - 90 points
A really good and clean white wine with all the tropicality and zest that this Argentine variety can give. The nose is crystalline and pure, with white flower scents of jasmine and citrus blossom, while the palate is round, melony and full of lychee and papaya. Smooth on the finish. Drink soon. M.S. The Vintage Cellar used the Wine Enthusiast's review. I thought this was a very enjoyable white wine. It has citrus and pear flavors, smelt like apricots and was not very tart.
