Tasting- Goose Island Sofie

Goose Island Sofie is made in Illinois, Belgian Style Ale, aged in wine barrels with citrus peel, and priced at $3.95/ 12oz or $14.95/ 4 pack. The Vintage Cellar said, "Fermented with wild yeasts ad aged in wine barrels with orange peel, Sofie is a tart, dry, sparkling ale. A subtle, spicy white pepper note, a hint of citrus from the orange peel and a creamy vanilla finish make Sofie an intriguing choice for Champagne drinkers and beer drinkers who are fond of Belgian Saisons". This was my favorite beer of the day. Since it was aged in wine barrels with citrus peel there is a major citrus lemon bite along with its peppery smell and toasted vanilla taste.
